Today is our son’s 25th birthday. He is now half as old as Wen got to be. That’s a weird thought. I can’t believe she is not here to celebrate with him. This is what I posted for him. The photos in the collage are Wen and he on his 13th birthday and Wen hugging him on his 20th birthday, and Flo at 1 1/2 years old.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Flo (Florian), from both your moms (Wendy – in spirit)! The big ’25’. Wow. I can’t believe it.
I still remember that Sunday twenty-five years ago so vividly. It was an incredibly hot day. The sun shining full force to welcome you to this earth. Holding you, my first born, in my arms, finally, after a long day of labor, your little face so sweet.
You have grown into an amazing, wonderful human being with a huge heart. Full of passion and compassion. Throughout all these years and especially the past year and a half you more than persisted; you excelled. We are so proud of you!!!
Now you are on your way to your favorite music festival, Bonaroo, with your wonderful girlfriend, Kristen, and other amazing friends. I wish you tons of fun!!! Celebrate this day with all your heart and soul 🙂
I wish you all that you wish for this next year of your life and, hopefully, many more to come. May your life be filled with love, joy, happiness, excitement, passion, compassion, courage, perseverance, health, wonderful friendships, fulfilling jobs, and enough money to take you places.
I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK, OUR SON!!!
